Started in 2002, running for nearly 20 years, with some great adventures and invitations to dance at some fantastic events, the Mazazik Performance Group is open to regular dancers who want to enjoy the experience of dancing in a group, and developing confidence and dance skills through performance.
There is never any pressure to be part of community performance, but as confidence grows, some like to start on the performance ladder. And it is not only fun (and maybe a bit nerve-wracking at first! )and a great group of people to enjoy your time with but it really does build confidence, presence and poise which people report they take back into the everyday lives with amazing results.
There are two levels:
*Community (open to all) which is more about dancing together at Mazazik events and very rarely about dancing in public.
*Level 2 (by invite and monthly practice at Choreo Lab meetings) will perform in public and in projects dreamed up by me. You will also be supported in your development as a solo dancer and be offered chances to do solos and small group pieces at future events.
Interested? Get in touch.

TAKE A LOOK AT SOME OF THE THINGS WE'VE GOT UP TO OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS
On one of my dance residentials to Luxor, we filmed this choreography on the streets of the West Bank, much to the amusement and with the support of the local people in the village.
EUROPEALIA 2012 & 2013
It was just after the Egyptian revolution, when travel into and out of Egypt was difficult for tourists and Egyptians alike, that we were invited to Spain to represent Egypt. Thankfully now, it is once again possible for Egyptian folklore troupes to represent their own country at folk dance festivals. But it was an honour for us to fly their flag.
MANCHESTER DAY PARADE
An amazing event, with thousands on the streets of Manchester, which we've taken part in every year since 2016, always with a family friendly atmosphere with some of the kids (and occasionally partners) joining in.
Photo from the Manchester Evening News June 2017 - spot the orange and purple of Mazazik in the bottom right hand corner.
The parade took place only a few weeks after the MEN bombing, and the streets were even more packed than previous years.
We were very proud to be part of such a show of solidarity.
