Saidi and baladi dance go hand in hand in Egypt. One is of the other.
Saidi (named after the region in Upper Egypt with Luxor at it's heart) and baladi (meaning 'of my country') which is the urbanised form of Egyptian folk dance which developed in the cities.
The musical instruments you find here at the usual drums found all over Egypt (darbouka, duff and doholla), the rebaba (spiked fiddle), the mizmar (oboe-type instrument), the arghul (a piped instrument played with circular breathing), the nay (flute) and the tabla baladi (a drum played with sticks which accompanies the mizmar).
